Umani Springs – Kibwezi Forest Reserve. A stylish and new self-catering retreat set in a unique habitat, offering Africa’s comfort whilst actively pursuing environmental stability and wildlife preservation.

Property Description

Umani Springs’ accommodation comprises of 3 bedroom areas, a swimming pool, sunbathing oasis and a relaxing living room. The property can sleep 10 people, there are 2 queen sized rooms and 3 spacious twin rooms, each bedroom is beautifully designed with a veranda overlooking the forest. The spring fed swimming pool is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Umani operates together with a small team of staff to assist you and guide you with your needs and supplies.


Activities include:
a. Bird watching,
b. Visits to Mzima Springs hippo pools, Kisula caves and Chyulu Hills,
c. Game drives,
d. Spring walk - this is a special short walk that follows used elephant paths to the source of Umani Springs,
e. Rocky Kopje walk - this circular track runs via the salt lick through open bush following elephant paths into the dry woodlands of the Kibwezi Forest,
f. Umani hill climb - this trek takes you from Umani Springs northwards to the top of Umani Hill, which is the highest point within the Kibwezi Forest Reserve.
g. Exclusive daily excursions to see the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Voi elephants.

How To Get There

We are conveniently located close to the Mombasa - Nairobi road. 3 hours drive from Nairobi and 5 hours from Mombasa.

Our 2012 rates start at USD 550 per night for the whole property (USD 139 per person if it is full with 10 people).
